New tank and reviewing cleaning schedule
Have done up my tank with some slate caves and a nice fake large leafy green plant - It's strange, someone pointed out, that I have that decor with a saltwater GSP. However the colours of the fish are striking against the slate, along with the black background and black sand.
Can post pics if anyone is interested and can explain how I can post them most easily.
Unfortunately I'm on 2ppm ammonia. I think I'm going to start rinsing the sponge filter on every day between feedings which I do every two days. Any thoughts?

Pics would be great! Load them to www.photobucket.com & link them here.
Wow, 2 is really high!!! What filtration are you using? Do you have live rock in there? A protein skimmer?

Get rid of the internal filter & add live rock.

Re: New tank and reviewing cleaning schedule
I definitely want to - I'd like to get a ro/di unit first as I understand that will deal with a potential cause of problems with algae. Any tips on which one to get?

Re: New tank and reviewing cleaning schedule
I'm afraid I'm in England and they do not ship internationally
This hobby would be much cheaper and easier if I was in the US

Then I would check for a local reef club. They are always selling off used equipment. UK has Ebay, too.
