Live rock is amazing got tons of zoas, mushrooms, stars, worms , snails etc, oh and a stone crab who ripped my tank apart and are loads of fish. There is still an unidentified clicking thing in my sump, all the crabs including the stone crab seem to have disappeared from down there so it's unlikely a pistol shrimp lol
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

I know this is an old thread. I wanted to toss my experience out there. Several years ago when first starting out I had a 75 g. So was able to buy an electric but gorgeous mix of rock. I had 3 show pieces of Marshall which at the time was 17.00 a pound. I went to a different store and bought a couple of small pieces of Fiji months later.
I cured it in a barrel and all looked fine. I put it in my tank and within a couple of weeks all of my rock was covered in aiptasia and majanos. It was horrid##
I went through bottles and bottles of Joe's juice aiptasia x, kalk etc. There was NO getting rid of them. I can just imagine how worse it would have been back then with the bioload of a puffer.
I eventually had to nuke it all. I was crushed!
My gorgeous Marshall looked like cement :(
I do not buy live rock anymore. I like knowing what I am putting in my tank. I buy reef saver. It is super porous and super cheap! Plus is eco friendly :)
My other rock has reseeded so I use a piece of that to seed new reef saver.
Bristle worms happen to everybody. They don't bother me at all. They are just part of the eco system.
Ugly..yeah!
Just my 2 cents :)
