I have never needed heaters in the tank room in this house, even when it is all FW. With my multi-tank systems and always multi-filtering, I am more loikely to need cooling than heating.

So I assume the ocean rock I have will be fine in a marine tank as it has come from salt water? It won't affect water chemistry?

Bubbles mean calcareous rock. But commercial vinegar in this country is not what it was in my youth. It is weaker now and may not react. If local "pickling vinegar is available and stronger (i.e., more acid) it will give better test results.

Ready to buy substrate now. What to buy? Arognite or playsand or what? Really confused now as heard so many different things through research and its time for the pros lol. Got tons of live rock ready for curing, tons of base rock and a list of inhabitants to choose from as long as my arm but substrate confuses me seriously. Thanks guys.

Stocking levels will be seriously low, not settled yet but a few hermits and perhaps a dozen small fish till I find my feet. Looking at cheap docile fish ATM. Nowt set in stone as the live rock needs to be cured yet. I'm not too confident on marine yet so I'm going to purchase some cheap docile fish ( whatever I can find cheap that will get along) until I find my feet and will progress from there. My wife has many plans but I want to get comfortable with s/w handling before I invest too much here lol.
