New Aquarium - What Do You Think? Questions!
Good Morning!
Yesterday, I purchased this aquarium... http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/pet/3334910535.html
It seems like I got a pretty good deal, and my LFS seemed to think so too... What do you all think and what are your experiences with this tank model? It really does seem like a very nice tank. For lighting, it came with Solar Xtreme T5H0 lighting and LED moon... I'm not sure how this works. On the back of the light strip, there's a switch to turn the light on but when you flip the switch, only a blue light comes on and it seems pretty dim. The owner I got the tank from showed me pictures of it with a much brighter, white light so I am assuming there's a way to use it... I just can't figure it out?? How do I turn the "white" light on, and when and how long should both be on? Finally, how do you use the timer??
I have many, many questions on setting the plumbing up... But I'm going to have to wait until I get pictures to post... It will be way too confusing if I try and explain it.

I thought it included everything, including plumbing. 600 bucks for a 57tank bundle is pretty expensive IMO, but still cheaper than store prices.
im awaiting pics and cycle.

My guess is the blue lights are the moonlights.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Yeah, I think those are the moonlights too... But if that's the case, how do you turn the brighter, white lights on? You can see the white, long bulbs in the hood so they are obviously there but why can't I figure out how to turn them on?
It did include plumbing but we had to take everything apart in order for it to be able to be carried out to the car... Now we just have to figure out how to put it all back together again.

There should be another switch on the side of the light fixture. Follow the cords.

That's the weird thing, there is only one cord...

Might be worth giving the previous owner a call. Without seeing it it is impossible to say.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

In my LED lights, the switch goes one direction for "all" lights and the other for "blue" only. I can't imagine how it would work any other way with one cord.

If there is just 1 cable it could split in the fixing, the ballast could be in the lights, each light could then (in theory) have its own switch. This is unlikely though, it should be a 3way switch
