Well I answered an ad on Cl for a 150g tank ! Picture seemed decent enough about 30 mins away , When i get there there a 6ft Bow front ( with overflow built in on each corner ) with stand along with marineland filter , garbage bag of bioballs ,light fixture, ultility pump and assorted other junk ! Heavy as you know what ! All for $250 ! After inspecting for cracks or damage, (Trying to keep from grinning from ear to ear ) I give her the money ! Can only fit the tank in my suv so the lady tells me she will let me comeback tomorrow for the stand .( When I get homeI put the beast in the garage , measure it and come to find out its more like a 170 gal .! Im a little teary eyed at the moment!

Turns out the tank measurements are 72 x 24 x 24 ! Only had to drive to Loxahatchee to get it to ! Im all hyped up , Cant wait to clean up and restain the stand, then Ill have to hit the tank . Its still got a pretty clean seal on all the edges , Hopefully no leaks ! Gonna do everything in the garage . Then trick my brother into coming over and helping me move the tank in the house when its ready ! LOL

Completely took apart the stand , Its smelled old and would of took forever to sand the planks and I do wanna support it with 4x4s ! The 1 x4 all the way around it kinda freak me out with all the weight! !

Its really not as hard as you might think! Thats why I kept the rim pieces ! Alot harder to remake them ! My 75g stand I made myself , I made that one long enough to support the 75g tank and my 10g hospital tank! But I used 2x4s on that one ! This I wanted peace of mind and went with 6 4x4s . 1 at each corner and 2 in the middle ( 1 front 1 back ) . My wife likes it it keeps me busy an out of her hair ! LOL
