I have a 175watt PFO MH ballast, I want two MH over my 90g reef, what if I use the PFO on one side and buy a ARO ballast for the other, using the same type of bulbs, will the light be noticeably different from one ballast to the other?
(I asked this on reef central with no responce, I remember way back when seeing some post on RC that showed different bulbs and ballasts but cant find it.)

Re: MH Ballasts Question
, no responce.
I think I am gonna sell the 175watt PFO setup I have and work with the florescent I have, I have a more than enough florescent ballasts to work with, two VHO ballasts, two PC ballasts and one T5...
so unless I get convinced other wise (please suggest if you think MH is gonna be the way to go) Im starting a new thread to figure out what florescents to go with...

I use 6 T5s over my 90g mixed reef.

Re: MH Ballasts Question
Both T5 and MH can grow coral. The fun part is that the differences in the lighting grows coral differently. mostly color related...
I prefer T5 since they use less energy and don't make so much heat.... and I couldn't afford MH anyway
