yes i do , definitely but that is the only time I have seen it. That picture was taken before I did the FW dip with VC. And at that time I had not noticed the nudi in the pic so for all I know it was part of the stuff that I shook off when I did the first dip...

that's what I'm worried about but I have not lost any polyps yet. It seems to me that if there were a lot more or even if just that 1 was still in therem, I would have lost at least one polyp by now. All the others are opening fine, BTW. thanks...

back on Vitamin C...

I saw ascorbic acid crystals at Trader Joes. It was a fairly big jar, in with the rest of the vitamins. The price was better than I saw at several online places.

Would VC dosing be good for BW (SG =1.008) or is this only a marine tank solution?

I believe it would be good in any tank but should not substitute for WC.

Really!!!

I do do 50% weekly WC and a 90% monthly and can't seem to get nitrates below the 10-20ppm range (unless I buy a whole new setup, lol!)

I would like to keep the SG 1.008 for a while until my GSP gets bigger but all these water changes are killing me and my wallet!

So you think this may help break the 10ppm barrier?

Yup. Nitrates-0 on the tap.

Will give Vit C dosing a shot and see how it goes.

Do you know the rational (science-wise) behind WHY Vit C reduces Nitrate?

(I'm not great at the chemistry.

It's very difficult to explain--do a search for carbon dosing, ie: vodka/sugar.
