Help - Aggressive Orange Chromide

I have recently added one orange chromide to my brackish tank.
I already had a figure 8 puffer in there, and all seemed to be fine.
My puffer is incredibly docile, and he lived with Dalmatian Mollies, so I wasn't worried about the aggression from him. But I noticed this morning that this orange chromide is being very aggressive, and keeps chasing my puffer, even biting him few times.
The puffer is just constantly on the run.
I thought these chromides are meant to be peaceful fish suitable for community tanks -_-
Has anyone else experienced this? Will the aggression die down? Or should I take back the chromide??
Tank space is not an issue, there's only 2 of them in a 160L tank

Do you know Orange chromides are cichlids? Are there lots of broken lines of sight?

Yes I am aware they are cichlids, and I did my research but they all suggested that it's pretty safe bet.

Tank is heavily planted, with lots of rocks as well.

Yes, but cichlids are known for aggression. Maybe add more than 1, to disburse the issue.

Are those 2 the only fish in your 160?

Yeah, maybe a few more cichlids so they’ll “play” with each other and leave poor puff alone!

Thanks everyone for their input, but I did not want to risk anything so I've decided to take him back to LFS.

What do you guys think it will be the best tank mates?

I've had mollies in there once, but they just bred like crazy... I expected the new born fries to be snacks but my puffer left them alone....

I've also kept BBG before with pea puffers, but I always found it difficult to feed them.. what food can i feed them that's readily available?

I was thinking of adding another figure 8, some celebes rainbows, and maybe BBG if I can get some good idea on how to feed them without their food getting snatched by hungry puffers.

Also, I'm not sure how my current puffer will behave if he has to share his tank. Any thoughts?

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks guys :)
