Cleaners

Post by Ianb262 »

I am looking for a fish or shrimp that can clean the bottom of my brackish tank(It has sand). A Diamond Gobie is too expensive, not to mention it is full marine.
I want something that will get along with my 3 Figure Eights
Thanks!

This is a tricky one, I had a dragon goby in my brakish for awhile. Tank had some muskippers on branches on top of the water, a figure 8 swimming in between the branches below water and a dragon goby, unfortunately the figer 8 eventually started to eat the dorsal fin on the dragon boby and they had to be separated.

I have heard of a brackish loach( Botia Robusta) but have no experience with them,

Not really, shrimps won't last long and I don't know of any fish that will help out without adding a greater amount of waste. Some have had good experience with Nerite snails but my Figure 8 constantly pecked at their feet.

You have to do your own maid service for BW. ;)
