Hello so I attached a pic of my tank layout and was wondering if this is good for f8 or is it to much? Tank is a 90 hoping to have 4-5 f8. If this is not allowed apologize.

Looks wonderful but is that real wood?

Looks really good, personally I'd add some crypt wendtii or Sagittarius subulatta for some low level interest and to help the transition between the rocks and substrate but that's just me.

I like it. It looks good. I would second adding some foreground plants.

Your plants and wood won't survive in brackish water.

Arny - That's a bit of a sweeping statement.

I have a brackish tank which I keep at between 1.003sg - 1.005sg and it contains redmoor root which isn't rotting and java fern which is positively thriving.

Java fern can adapt to brackish water quite well, I dose fertiliser & liquid Co2 every day and although they grow slower than they would in freshwater they aren't just surviving they are doing very well.

As for the wood, no signs of rotting at all although I'm sure brackish water will begin to break it down over time - and when I say "time" we could be talking years as I've had the redmoor root in there for almost a year now and it looks the same as it did when I put it in, apart from being much darker with a covering of algae!

I have java ferns in my 1.005 tank. Do they thrive? No. Do they survive? Yes. I also have real wood in my tank. I've accepted that I'll have to replace it every year. But it's worth it. I want my tank to look natural. Also the moss balls I have are doing okay and even growing.

Wood generally does lower the pH & soften your water, which is the opposite of what you're looking for in BW.
