Do I need more filtration?

Post by Jdub1239 »

I have a 40 gallon. Currently have a aquaclear 110 and a penguin 200. Am considering replacing the penguin with another 110. Also added in a canister filter. Occupants are a 2" figure 8 and 5 bumblebee gobbies.

You're filtered just great!
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I have a question here...when you over-filter, what are the dangers with the strength of these in getting a small puffer stuck to/in it?

And is there anything one can do to better protect their small puffers? Something to cover the intakes? The same applies to circulation pumps. I've read black pantyhose as a suggestion, but that it really weakens the flow and makes them loud.
