Redecorated my GSP Tank

Post by sgtmyers88 »

I redecorated my GSP tank to have more of an ocean-like appearance and removed all of the driftwood so it does not rot in the saltwater as the salinity is close to 1.010 now and I have read that salty water rots drift wood more quickly than in freshwater. I have also placed two Penguin 330 filters on the tank.

It also looks like one of my GSP's made his first crab kill as I saw him happily munching on a crab leg today. :)

As you can see, the water looks crystal clear and my readings are perfect!

You can also see it with the Marineland night time LED lighting.

Very nice! i am thinking of getting night lights but i would have to build a canopy which is a total pain for bow front tanks.

Well my spoiled kids are finally coming out and smiling for the camera! lol
And I definitely think I have solidified my relationship with these guys, I can stand in front of the tank eating something and just like a bunch of dogs they bump the glass in front of me and go bezerk thinking I am gonna give them some of my food! I am loving these fish more and more everyday!

Well I decided to sell their tank and stand to make room for the 125G that I am planning to get and moved them and their habitat to the prettier 55G (I have a preference for the wood trim and stands) that once housed my goldfish until then.

Whats awesome is the people who bought the other 55G gave me 30lbs of dead rock that I can convert back to live rock later on! :D

Salinity with the new water is now at 1.015 (kept 20G of the water and the filter from the old tank to maintain the cycling)
