yep he's in with a load of fish at moment , although the plan is to build him his own paludarium eventually , when i finally get round to it ! .....he seems to be doing good , when i purchased him , he was looking quite beat up with nothing but spines sticking up and was half the size , now all his fins have grown back perfectly and his blue markings are looking superb :) ..............bags of character , will happily sit in the palm of my hand and eat his bloodworms .

He is very happy. I had him in a 10 gal when i first got him for about 2 months. He loves his little pvc cave i made him. That was a late addition to the tank and he likes it so much that i dont want to take it out to paint it. Everyone always says they need to be in a species only tank but i think if you set the tank up right they can live happily with other fish. What fish do you have yours with?

yep i've kept him in fresh , may acclimatise him to brackish in future...but to be honest he seems be doin very well in fresh water. I've read in the wild there water conditions change a lot depending on season , tidal patterns and rainfall , so all in all quite adaptable little fellas ! lol

Yea but i would really recomend salt for the skipper. With my brackish i use the glass hydrometer and i try to get it at about 1.005 but it could be 1.002-1.008. With brackish fish it changes hourly in the wild the only thing to be worried about is killing BB but i havent had a problem yet.

Where did you get yours? Ive neer seen them in stores. I really wish they were more popular. I think they need to sell tanks already set up with a land part or sell inserts that can be adjusted for each tank.

I got him from one of the 30 or so stores that i regurlarly visit , usually just to see what stock is in .i was pretty lucky to come across him , the only other ones i've seen are in my local sea life center place . I remeber the guy at the store saying to me he'd be a bit of a one off as where he was shipped from certain shipping restrictions were coming into place ...but whether that was true or not or just a bit of sales patter i don't know .
Yep it be nice if they were more easily available , very unique pets . Well i do believe you've spotted a gap in the market ....paludariums ready to go straight from the shelf ! .....who knows if they become more readily available , i think a lot of people would become hooked on the little guys ! :)

It can be as simple as a platic shelf with a rim all the the way around to add your own substrate and half of it can be slightly slanted into the water and to hold it up have a few adjustable legs
