Enough filtration??

Post by 1puff »

I have a 30g with live plants and 2 f8s and I'm running a Ac 20 and Ac 30.
It's like having an Ac 50 but I prefer having 2 filters in case one stops working for some reason.
In the future I'll replace the Ac 20 for an Ac 50 or 70.
Is what I have at the moment good enough for these pigs!!lol!

Yes, I believe so, but just to be certain, make sure you are turning over 300 gallons per hour.

If you keep your filter well maintained to keep the flow rate up then I'd say it's adequate.

I do nothing but rinse the sponge in tank water 3-4 times a year and the bio media maybe twice a year. At least that's what I do with both my eheims on my 75g and never had an issue.

Frankly, that does not sound like enough upkeep to me. But you do not specify your water change schedule and percentage change. What are your water parameters?

Alternating cleaning filters every other month, is minimum. What are you using in the ACs?
