Water changes..same as freshwater ?

Post by 1puff »

When I do water changes, do I add salt in the bucket and check with a hydrometer to match the SG in my tank and then add the water to the tank?

Thats the way friend.
I used to do two 20% water changes per week.

I decide to rise SG to 1.018 to add an skimmer and earn some bucks on salt ñ_ñ

I did 50% weekly on my BW tanks. 2 x 20% is not 40%, when done separately.

The SG is too high... and in low BW the skimmer won't function.

The technique is the same.. yes, mix and match the salt levels.

OK, I thought you were referring to the 50% I was doing. :)
