Hi I need some advice please since getting my tank into my 3rd week
my test levels have been first week was ammonia 0 Nitrate 0 Nitrite 0 GH 125/ KH 50 PH 6.8
2nd week 0 / nitrate 10 / 0/ gh 125 kh 100
3rd week ammonia 0 nitrate 0 nitrite 0 GH 125 KH 270 PH 6.4
I have done my water change the only thing I've added is a oxygenating plant would this effect my water levels.

How are you adding waste ie ammonia to the tank? Which test kit are you using?
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Hi Bertie I use King British safe guard de-chlorinator /K British 6 in 1 water test strips also plant food is tetra plant planta min.
What am I doing wrong i'm a little worried now and don't want to loose my fish.

How large is the tank & what fish are in there at what size?

The tank is 40 liters their 4 guppies 2 platies 3 tetra I think about 1ins also 3 zebra danio about 2ins
The tank has plants and for three week I have changed 25% of the water each week.

The king British strips are rubbish, showed 0 nitrate constantly on my tanks, I eventually purchased an Api kit and found the nitrates were off the chart on at least one of my tanks. I felt bad and humiliated, dump them and get a liquid based test kit.
