Congo coming in tomorrow

Post by defool89 »

Any advise, especially from first hand is appreciated... I know they eat fish and need sand but what can you tell me as in preffered living quarters, decor, how many times a week they eat. Life span approx. .. I would really like to see a pic or two as well and or links to great Congo articles...

He/she will be in a 60g planted tank

buy feeder tongs and train them how to eat dead food. starve them for a few days to make this work and have some patience. for decor, try not to cover up too much for the sand area with decor. but try to provide cover.
Kind regards,
Terrance

There's a drop-down menu under the Learn tab, above.

We've kept miurus in the past. liked being in sand and loved a rush attack on in-coming food items...and fingers. We didn't feed every day since he wasn't always intereasted. was capable of changing colour which could cause problems.....has sharp teeth... not a community fish but fun at times..

eta we kept ours for 2 and a half years before we had to give him up to another puffer lover since we were moving.

ye ol' puffer slave I will keep my fingers away from the puffer with caution..good one I may not know how valuable that hint may have been....haha thnx

Pp those pics are getting me a little excited now on my new puffs arrival. I had to give up my Fahaka today to lower my expenses...I have a soon to be newborn coming next month and I had to look at my long term and short term expenses and my beloved Fahaka had to go :( ... so I found some videos on the congo and I had to get it. I just fonished decorating the tank and added the sand and am now just waiting for the fed ex man for 9 more hours wooo!

Props on the subtrate btw what is the red stuff?

25% red gravel mixed in with 75% black sand. Hoping he's try to match the red, like my last one, Punkster:
