I forgot, for inert substrate, I'll use Seachem Root Tabs.
And occasionally a bit of Reef Fusion 1 for calcium and magnesium, but my tap water is pretty much 0 on everything but ammonia and silica.

I added some Frog's Bit and Dwarf Water Lettuce because I read that the Rams don't like bright light, so this gives them a side of the tank they can go to with dimmer light. I'm hoping they like the stump on that side, I dug out a depression for them under it so they can have a little "house".

I have an updated pic. I've changed the filter to a canister with a really long spray bar so I can have the GPH without the turbulence. It also keeps the floaters on one side of the tank. I still need to set up an air pump with a nighttime timer, and then it should be ready for the Cardinals to move over. I'm going to wait just a while longer still on the Rams just to make sure everything is running smoothly.
