I bought this ?guinea fowl? puffer when he was very small, about 2". He was black with small white spots. Now he is 4" yellowish brown in color with large oval pale beige spots. Around his eyes the spots are starting to connect into lines. I have never seen a guinea fowl puffer with these markings. Is he a guinea fowl or ?????? Please help.

Thank you Arny. That is exactly what I said! The guy that sold him to me swears he is a guinea fowl, at least that is what the guy that sold him stated it was. I guess I better start researching a mappa puffers.
I really hope they are not to aggressive. When he gets a little bigger he will be transferred to my 250G DT with a greenspot, a true guinea fowl, and a blue dogface. The all get along no problems. I feed them in separate areas of the tank for just in case. I also have a magnificent fox face and a red hawk fish. Knock on wood no problems so far. In fact, the two puffers, Bluey and Fluffy, are always swimming together.

I'm afraid a 250 won't be large enough for all those fish.

Thank you for the link. I have spent this evening getting to know mappa puffers. Holy cow Mappas are some big boys!!! I am sad I will not be able to keep him. He is so beautiful but I fully agree a 250 is nowhere near big enough. I will spend the next week looking for a good home.
