Update: Any suggestions would be helpful, I am afraid the little guy might not last the night. When I came home from work this is how I found him... He has lost a lot of color

Does his skin look like he has a disease or just feeling ill? Some animals, once they hit starvation mode, are extremely hard to bring back.

Sorry buddy, I know you did everything you could. I have lost numerous puffers and every single one feels like losing a puppy.

Thanks guys, it does suck really bad, but I'm glad he's no longer suffering. I do really appreciate all the suggestions and help that was offered.
