Sphoeroides rosenblatti.

Post by RVS »

Hi there, i was reading some books to identify american puffers and yesterday i recived a phone call from my LFS to said to me that they got a "colombian fresh water puffer" the first thing i though was that the fish was a Colomesus asellus, but then i arrived and i find out a very strange 8cm puffer...

by the shape of the head i knew it was an spheroides, but not a familiar species (after searching in literature and with a little help from fishbase i identify it as Sphoeroides rosenblatti)... i took it to my place and, as all spheroides are marine i put him in a 40gal high brackish end that was already home for 6 Chromis Vidris, they passed the night and everything is ok.... so, i´ve never kept an spheroides before they are quite rare... no belly, very hard marked lateral line... i would apreciate there is any recomendations or advice you could tell me :D

Very neat!
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Very cool!

I wish I could just bring home puffers at random lol and be able to house them properly.
