Good news / Bad news...........Good news Academy has live earth worms, live giant mealworms & frozen cut up squid. She refused the earth worm & the mealworms, I haven't tried the squid. OHH wait, wait..... she's doing circles around the earth worm here she comes again no no she turned around. She's going back no she turned around. :whip: Get over there and eat that worm little girl. That may be your castle but you are not a princess. Still circling......showing some intrest......getting closer...no she turned around. Where's my puffer paddle... :badboy: . Showing her the paddle....she is not happy with me. I will not give her any ghost shrimp!! Ok this could take hours so if she finally goes in for the kill I will update everyone.

Hey PP, I saw a congo puffer today, it reminded me of your picture. But it looked sort of orange. Looks really cool in person. Also saw a Mbu puffer for the first time in person today. It was in a huge aquarium. I don't know how many gallons but it was a display and I would say the puffer was about 16" long. I thought about Clooney when I saw it. :( I think the aquarium was about 20 feet long and it was from floor to ceiling. I'm not sure how wide. It was a sight to see. I seen lots of different puffers today and I wanted every one of them!!!

I saw all the puffers at Fish Gallery in houston. It's one awesome store. I could have stayed there all day.
Yes I was pulling it through the water and she just ignored it. I put a couple of live mealworms in the current she did take a bite out of one but only one bite. I guess that's a start. I tried to put the live earth worm in front of her with the tongs and she still ignored it. I even touched her head with it. That's when I let it go and thought she would see it wiggle and be intrested. She circled it, swam off, circled it again. Then she got really close to it and I thought she was going to take a bite then she turned and went the other way. I have not given up yet! I'm still working on her. Oh and I even soaked it in garlic. It does nothing for her.

Well I tried to trick her :? , I made a ghost shrimp kabob. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyway here's what happened: I put a piece of clam (large piece) on the skewer then the ghost shrimp (small one) then another piece of clam (large piece). She ate the ghost shrimp and left the clam. :tuttut: I think she is smarter than me! This is the most stubborn puffer I have ever come in contact with! My husband says she takes after me. I'm planning to starve her for a few days, regroup and try again. :grouphug: I will not give up!

I would only try this as an absolute last resort, but sometimes force-feeding can entice a fish to start eating.
