Thanks. He/she is in a 4 by 1.5 by 1.5 on it's own, with some silver dollars for company. In Singapore, this is a pretty big tank for one fish, and not my first mbu too ;)

He doesn't look interested in taking chunks out of the silver dollars yet, just happy to just stare at them.

Doesn't have a name yet. Not sure if I will name him. Didn't name my Asian golden arowana, but I just might.

Happy with the purchase as many large Mbus have torn tails, there were two other pieces this size and both had torn tails, so glad this piece has a beautiful looking tail. And I think I got it rather cheaply too. About 185 usd :D

That's only 65 gallons. He will outgrow this tank is 6 months. What will you be doing for an upgrade? Can you build him a tank?

You should probably move him to something bigger, I'd suggest at least a 400 gallon tank.

Looking @ Hank the Mbu's oldd 340 gal tank, 250 gal wld not do justice for an intelligent fish that's going to be over 2 ft long. When do you plan to upgrade his tank? As PP said, he'll very quickly outgrow that tank so hopefully your upgrade is on its way.

My mbu generally sulks in his favourite corner unless I turn the tank light on. I suspect it has IPs so tried soaking prazi in opened clams but he just doesn't want to eat them. In fact he has only ate one clam since I got him. Has shown no interest in clams after that first one. He loves crayfish tho, but I can't feed crayfish every day. How do I get him to start eating clams? Not sure if the garlic additive will help as I think he wouldn't eat the clams even if I didn't soaked his meds in them. Tried feeding sutchi fillets once and he ignored them too. I think I got a picky eater.

Garlic enhances appetite & flavor.

Ok I think garlic worked. It didn't eat the clams when I was in front of the tank but when I came back later they were eaten. Doubt the silver dollars ate them so it probably did. Will try again tmr.
