I will be looking at houses for the next couple years. And one of the first things I will be doing before I make an offer is calling in a structural enigeer to indentify the cost of making the 1st floor support 20k+ pounds. I dont plan on having a 4000liter tank (~1000gallon) tank but a couple 500gallon+ tanks and a plethora of sub 200 gallon tanks. Lot of planing and designing involved but the end result should be worth it.

Here's a house I was looking at. The pool is inside the middle of the house. I thought it would make a great fish room. Perfect for my next puffer!

My mind just went to images of the pool converted to a fish tank with an mbu breeding project.

I would never attempt breeding them. Too many mbus in unhappy situations, already!

True. Has anyone heard of someone converting an indoor pool into an indoor pond?

I don't see why not. They usually use sand filters that would work great!

I'd love to have a saltwater indoor pond like that! With a few windows on the side... Heh you could go snorkeling in your own house!

Did you try telling him he could use it while the live rock was curing inside it? lol

As long the the correct ventilation and construction materials were used you shouldnt have a mold problem. But thats not always the case and would make for an expensive overhual. I can see the hesitation.
