Help please!

Post by KellyOsborne »

I am getting my first puffer fish on tuesday! And need sand for the tank. What sand would be best? I have read so much online and want to know what people find best?
Thanks!

Welcome!

What species of puffer? If you don't already have the tank set up & CYCLED, please do not purchase the puffer on Tuesday.

I love those lil guys! Did you know they can live close to 20 years? In answer to your question, aragonite sand is recommended.

Here's my article on them: library/puffers-in-focus/sap/

Also, on cycling: library/water-filtration/fishless-cycling/

Always great to hear!
Congrats on the weight loss, BTW. I'm a recovering food addict myself! :)
