GSP in full marine

Post by rw123 »

Hi everyone!
I have a marine tank which is currently running but with no inhabitants, and would like a GSP. Would I be able to introduce a youngster or two into a marine tank through very slow acclimation, or would I be able to lower the salinity in my tank (currently at 1.026) to the required salinity without having to start the cycle again/ without causing problems? The tank is 55 gal and has been running for 2 years.
Thanks :)

Are there any corals in there? If not, then 1.020 is fine for a FOWLR tank. With corals, you need 1.026. You could drip-acclimate the puffers over a day.

Thanks for your reply, there are no corals in there so I can just drop the salinity and then spend a long time acclimating?
