New GSP Tank

Post by akadios »

Hello,

I am setting up a 36g Bow Front for a GSP, I am currently acclimating the GSP to salt water slowly in a 10g tank while I build him his 36g Saltwater Home.

Tank Setup:
Finnex Marine+ Light
Glass Hood
Aquaclear 50 w/ 200ml purigen loaded
Aqueon Pro 150w heater
Aqueon 500gph Circulation Pump
60g Sponge Filter (Powkoo)
Tetra Whisper 40 Airpump
Eshopps PSK-75H 3rd Gen Protein Skimmer
2.5" Live Sand
35lbs Dry Rock (Which will eventually liven itself again)
6lbs Live Rock

My plan is to have Green Star Polyps and an assortment of Button Polyps which people have indicated on other forums are generally left alone.

My objective is to provide PLENTY of filtration to keep the water clean.

I would like to add a tank mate for Freckles (the GSP) and was thinking of a 6 Line Wrasse and 1 Large hermit

I would like some advice however in terms of tank size and the ability to add a single fish tank mate and 1 large hermit.
Also advice on what tank mate if the wrasse is not a good idea.

Thanks

[welcome]
If you want to add tank mates, I'd build a bigger tank.

Thanks,

I am going to expand to a 75gallon, apparently unlike my freshwater tanks my wife calls boring she is in love with the salt water tank and wants a bigger one to.match my 75 gal planted tank.... I mean I suppose I need to keep her happy :) lol

Since I'll be expanding in the spring what options for tank mates?

Fast-moving fish will be good like the wrasse but they are avid jumpers. Never was able to keep one from carpet-surfing. Mine did well with a tomato clownfish. You could get another GSP or Ceylon puffer.
