yup.checked with distilled water. SG is closer to 1.019. will it be too much of a shock for him since he's in 1.025 now?

is the bacteria at 1.025 the same as it is at 1.019? I'm asking cause i'm getting filter media from the tank that has an sg of 1.025.

So the supposed puffer purchase didnt happen this weekend. This guy changed the time and day which i was supposed to meet him so i can buy the gsp 3-4 times and after today's excuse i told him to keep it and i'll find another one...which i did. Problem is that i brought the sg up to 1.019 cause the other guy kept his around the same sg. Now, the other one i found is in fresh water. Do i do a 100% water change to bring the sg down or do i keep it this way and and acclimate the new gsp to 1.019? I'm pissed cause i killed off all the bacteria by adding all the salt in the tank. Will biospira help?
Does is help that i got "live sand? Maybe my lfs can give me a piece of sponge from their marine tanks.

Do a 100% WC, add Tetra Safestart to the filter & add the puffer.

want him to be in brackish water. If i remove enough water to bring down the sg to 1.005 and acclimate him to it and then add safe start....would it be ok?

You can drip acclimate get a bucket with the puffer and a standard air tube with the current tank water and run it like a siphon to the bucket. I would just keep your current SG and get the Bio Spira and some live rock. No need to waste more salt aka money. lol

well it's too late now. I did a waterchange and dropped the the sg down to 1.008. Will keep it at this level and will drip acclimate him like advised.
Will also add biospira or safestart once i put him in.

I think that's going to be fine. I would not drip acclimate more than one hour. Brackish puffers are used to large swings in specific gravity.

Checked walmart and can't find any. Went with cycle after reading some people having successful cycling with it....if used properly.
