Pacing solved

Post by Blinkey »

So, I have had my fig 8 puffer for a few months now. His/her pacing behaviour has reduced significantly since adjustment to the new environment, but it was never completely eliminated. Recently however, I upgraded my filtration to an external filter with a powerful outflow. This has generated decent current in the tank and my puffer loves it, so much that pacing seems to have vanished entirely :D .
Just thought I'd put this experience out there, in case anyone else is having issues with their puffer compulsively pacing up/down despite adequate decor. Seems I completely undervalued water current, which my original filter just couldn't provide.
