about ceylon puffer,

Post by NIVNIV24 »

hello, I am recently intrested in ceylon puffer fish, and have few questions that were not mention in my search at forum.

I read that ceylon puffer fish could reach length of 20cm.
if so, does the tank size related to puffer maxium size? and will aquairuam at size between 20 gallon to 29 would be enough to get maxium puffer length? Im planning to have at least 4 puffers or more on these tank size.

also, the use of pump wave in marine setup could also effect their length? There's a video of green spotted puffer, very large puffer. unlike other that been around the forum. and she been liveing in large marine setup with high water filtartion and with pump wave.

You can't even keep a single GSP in a tank that size.
I wouldn't keep a single Ceylon in <40g. 55g would be better.

My 6" GSPs outgrew the 55g I had them in & had to re-home them.

+++++ to PP comment. Ceylons get much bigger than a GSP I have a single GSP in a 40 long (10 gallons over the "minimum") and I am starting to think it's cruel.

I had a Ceylon years ago at the fish store I worked at. He was a good 6 inches and lived in a 100 gallon. I would have liked to see him in something a bit bigger. They don't buzz around as much as a GSP but it's close, so they need lots of swimming room.
