well ive decided to upgrade the 180 litre tank that i have for the 3 gsp now as i have some spare money.i currently have an ehiem 2224 external.im looking for another bigger tank with a good external filter so i can run both so im not sure what the other will be yet.the biggest tank size i can go up to right now is 300 litres so wish me luck on my tank hunting.hoping to find something this week.ive also decided to fill the tank with ocean rock.hope they will like that.i know it keeps the ph high so thats good also.
im driving my husband mad as this will be my 3rd tank in 1 month haha.but i have gone from 1 gsp to 3 so i needed to anyway.hes never really been that into fish like me but hes really into the puffers.there my fav fish ive ever kept so far and although there small there very rewarding to keep.im so glad i decided to keep them.

update on the fish.
there all doing great.the larger one still has whitish/grey spots on his back but some have gone.hes not acting ill.hes always full of life.got them some cockles in shells last week.i defrosted them then bashed them with a screwdriver to crack them so they can get into them.when i popped them in they loved them.ripping the meat out.i put 2 in for the 3 of them to share.fins are healing nicely.the sg is at 1.004 right now.the bigger gsp is still dark but i think he will get better when the salinity rises.fingers crossed.

not sure if you have seen the film called labryinth with david bowie.but my larger gsps face reminds me of the worm in that film lol.

do you think the ehiem 2215 & 2224 filters running together will be enough??

this tank should do them for a few years there only babies atm.

I prefer mixing Aquaclear HOB filters with the Eheim canisters. The HOB can be cleaned more often, for mechanical filtration & leave the Eheim for biological.

That should be enough to tide you over. Hobs are nearly impossible to get here in the uk

I got an all pond solutions aka sun sun. I hated it to start with, then adapted it so it worked and liked it. Eheims are miles better, if you got the budget buy eheim

as im putting the puffers in there new tank tommorow.im going to transfer everything straight over.wilst im doing this would they be best in a bucket with a heater and airstone?? as it will be a few hours to do.

also is it correct that puffers cannot be taken out of the water??
how can you not do this when buying a puffer from a shop and not getting there water in your tank?is it best to put a jug in or something and scoop them out??

Yes puffers should never be removed from water. New puffers from Lfs should have the bag water repeatedly filled and drained to remove most of the Lfs water. Use a cup or scoop to move puffers in water from one place to another, remember to cover the scoop as puffers are remarkable jumpers
