Peter went to the big fish bowl in the sky last night. I had him for about 5 years, so we had a good long run, although I think it was cut a bit short. His teeth ended up growing too long and I didn't notice in time. I tried to do the clove oil trick, but he never came back from being knocked out. I think he was just too weak. It's a lesson to me to never get too comfortable in my fish husbandry. We had been on auto pilot for so long that I wasn't paying enough attention (I thought the occasional clam was still doing the job to keep his teeth nice and trim).
Peter enjoyed some fame over his years. He was featured in the 2008 puffer forum calendar (Mr. February) and had a few pictures in FAMA, accompanying pufferpunk's article.
Thanks to everyone on this forum for helping my out when I was still getting my feet wet. Sites like this one are invaluable to the hobby.
Best,
Mike

I'm not sure you can get back issues, since there is no more FAMA. Actually, all my articles are printed in different mags.
