I believe if you mix up the plants and rocks and stuff, in other words, remove all territories it will work. make sure they are about the same size too. how big is your GSP?
... also, as I'm sure you know. all puffers are different. some may mix and some may not...

You could also take out your original puffer, put in the new one and let it look around a bit and what not and then put in the old GSP. That will help with removing the territory of the original puffer.

With enough decor I think it will be fine. A 75 gallon is pretty large and spacious for 2 GSP's.

As long as you post some pics. LOL. But i think go with the others advice and it should be alright.

I have two GSP in my 75 gallon and they are doing great, but when I first put them in there they would chase each other around it took them two days to get used to each other.
What I did to keep them from killing each other is moved everything around before putting in the second one, and I put a bunch of fake plants in the middle of the tank to break the tank in two as far as line of sight. So when the fish would fight they would go between the halfs back and forth but once the one lost sight of the other one they would quit. I had to break them up a couple times right after putting the second puffer in. I just blocked them apart with my net for the first hour than let them be and after two days they where fine and I took out the fake plants. Also there are alot of real plants and rocks for them to play in. It has been about 2 months now and they are doing great. The original one is about 2" and the new one 1.5"

I would have waited until I could have found one more equal to the size of the 1st one.

I know this may not be typical, but my GSP Shakespeare is much LESS hostile with puffers way smaller than him. When I first got Jillybean, she was the size of his head(she's now over half his length) and he was so careful of not hurting her she'd sit there while he crushed snails she couldn't, then dive in after them, and he'd just pull away and let her have them. I suspect a 2cm GSP would be only a few months old, tops.

I wish my bigger gsp was like that. He tries to boss around the 1/2 smaller gsp a lot and they were bought together. As you know I have had a couple of bites. Like you guys say it depends on the fishes temperment, tank size and the way decor is set up.
BTW I have to add I saw smallest teeny tiny gsp's at wal mart today. THEY were So Cute. Man I wish they wern't there though.
