Mine worked fine. If you can't get anything but dried, maybe set up a few, in case only one batch actually hatches?
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Hi,
Yes they are handy, usually they work.... But Martin is right - please, don´t just rely on one source of infusoria... not when you have C. irrubesco fry! :)

The pictures are awesome! Did you just use a normal marco lens (plus flash etc.) or something to enhance the magnification ... like spacer rings or an additional close up lens?

Last week we managed to tape the courtship of Carinotetraodon irrubesco. Our 2 Irrubesco males are usually quite nasty ... so it was a surprise to see the male following the female through the tank, but we never exspected them to "dance".

What's the size of the fry/spawn?

Regards,
Andy

Babies already have big eyes! :smitten:

They measure about 2 mm, and eat infusoria since yesterday.

Babies go towards the light. If you put a light bulb near, the infusoria meet them and babies eat better

Well worth an petfish magazine article.
