Not only the T. lineatus, but also many other species of the Nile's original fauna are almost or already extinct there. Problems are waste dumping, fertilizer and also the Aswan dam. As always it's worst in the more heavy populated areas.
Our petfish are fishnapped from other African rivers where they are quite abundant.
