You are certainly right, but other large fish like Arowanas, Arapaimas and many more are frequently bred in ponds in SE Asia. I would not exclude this could be done in the future with the Mbu. One main reason would be the Japanese food fish market if it ever became interested in the Mbu. They already breed and import several thousands of metric tons of other puffers, mostly Takifugu rubripes and catch another approx. 10,000 tons of marine wild puffers per year.

wow yeah i never thought of that either, eating puffers is one of the stupidest things to do in the first place, but eating mbu's? never would have thought, now im interested in looking further into this subject

For $400 a fish, someone will try :( They don't care if the fish lives or dies, as long as they get their $400.
