Think of the Mullet in Africa. (No not horrible 80's hair-do) They live their lives in the freshwater rivers until they spawn, which requires them swimming miles from river to estuary to sea just to spawn with one another and then to return right back to the river again. This would be almost impossible to re-create in captivity. It may be possible certain puffers have the same pattern in breeding therefore making it extremely difficult to emulate the specific conditions required to produce puffer fry.
