Native Planting for Colomesus asellus SAPS Amazon

Post by CannaKona »

I would like to plant my aquarium with plants native to the waters of the areas where these Colomesus asellus puffs travel. I'm usually pretty good at researching this kind of thing but I'm struggling with locating this information. If anyone can direct me to a resource for this I would be grateful.

Thanks much!

Thanks for the link - I did read this (its actually the first article I read from this site) - I am looking for more detailed information on actual plant species. I understand that they need open swimming lanes - I've had to adjust their current tank a few times for that reason. And found that the only time they nip or uproot plants is when something is in their way. My plan is to plant more of the background and possibly grow some sort of carpeting plant like monte carlo. But I'd like to do it using plants that grow in the region they are from I guess you could say I'm trying to use a Zoological approach.

The goal is to have places to rest and forage in native plants.

I assumed that when you read the articles, you might be able to trace plants from the regions they come from.

If I understand correctly they come from a fairly wide geographical area. That's why I was hoping to come across something that could narrow down the plant species a bit.
