Re: pea puffers
Glad you asked! They are best kept in groups of 6 or more:

Re: pea puffers
That would be pretty tight. I always thought the 15g was a bit small for 6. I have 10 in a 29g.

Re: pea puffers
This is really late but pufferfish don't need tank mates. They can, but it's not necessary. If you want to keep more than 1 in the same tank, it has to be heavily planted so that the chances of them fighting would decrease. Pufferfish DO NOT get lonely. In terms of tank size, the first Pufferfish would need at least 5 gallons and each subsequent one would need 3 gallons. For a 14 gallon tank, you may be able to fit in 4 dwarf pufferfish. For an 8 gallon, 2 pufferfish. If you've already gotten more than 4, just make sure that the water quality is kept clean as pufferfish are messy eaters so ammonia may be an issue. It may be best to keep to 1 as if you get too many, you may lose interest over time, which may not be the best seeing that pufferfish live many years.

Re: pea puffers
Although that is true for most puffers, there are a few species that prefer to live in groups of conspecifics.
