Blanched Food

Post by bengo »

Hello everyone. So after looking for a year I finally was able to get ahold of a Hairy Puffer. Such a cool fish. My son named him Scruffy. I found some frozen mussels at the store that hes been eating the last week. I didn't notice at the time as I thought they were raw but in small lettering I saw a notice that it says they are blanched. I know raw is best but will blanched cause an issue? It says to still cook for human consumption so I dont think its completely cooked through.

Probably OK but raw is always best. I can't believe you got him to eat them! Mine only eats live food.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Ya he has greedily taken all other frozen stuff Ive offered. Fish, shrimp, mussels, etc. Ironically the live stuff he hasn't even really looked at. There are some snails and cherry shrimp in there that I wasn't able to get out before we got him. They have been right in front of him multiple times and hasn't taken any.
