Freshwater puffer ID

Post by Barbo »

I purchased this guy yesterday under the name "red eye puffer," thinking he was a Carinotetraodon species. Now I'm thinking he's in Pao but I can't figure out the species. Any guesses? Thanks.

How do you know he isn't P. leiurus? Isn't the genus Pao now?

I just saw a similar puffer at my lfs in Lawrence Kansas. You didn't buy this guy from pet world in Lawrence did you. 😅?
If not then maybe they have been imported recently all over?
The price was 30.00
