This is obviously preference but I think avocado puffers are one of the ugliest ones to me

My 2nd dragon/palembangensis as stated was a rock, but a new idea blossomed that is working. Black sand, shade, and plants.

Make a structure or canopy of plants and BLACK eggcrate or light diffuser that comes in 24x48 inch poster sized sheets commonly seen in the reef forums for sump projects and more.
Take a little bit of the black plastic that mimics a shelf or canopy and weave a bunch of (tough slow growing) anubias, Anubias nana or anubias nana petite on it.
The down side is that the plants cost a lot to "fill" a tank with.
The upside is that the water gets a natural cleaner and the pet-rock actually moves underneath it a little bit, which is grrreat by pet-rock standards.

Brackish opens up a lot more possibilities for what you're looking for, my recommendation would be a Ceylon puffer

So the Fahaka puffer came in today and the dragon got scratched but they still sent me the order anyways without asking. Not very impressed with the place I ordered from(first time trying them out). Definitely going to be calling and having words.

Problem number 1. I ordered a "Medium Fahaka" Labeled at 3-6 inches on the website. It came in barely over an inch.
Problem number 2. I ordered 40 Silvertip Tetras 15 came.
Problem number 3. Plants were downright awful

End rant.

Anywho so my plan with the two puffers was going to be a divider in my 55g for two weeks while I quarantined and dewormed them and finished getting the 120 setup. So my question is if I took my time on the scape of the 120 and started some carpeting plants to give them time to settle in it won't hurt the Fahaka puffers growth to be solo in a 55 for 6ish weeks right? My goal(should be everyone's goal) with the Fahaka is to hit his max growth possible. He will eventually end up in my home business office 210 tank. Can't wait to see the look on some of my clients face when they are parked beside a big ole puffer while we are trying to do business

It has been hiding a lot since I got it but that is to be expected. He let me tong feed him tonight and has been staring at me while I'm sitting at my desk since lol. I don't think he will be all that shy once he settles in more. I have one ninja Khuli loach left in the tank that I can't get out and he hasn't got ahold of him yet.

I was prepared for a bigger Fahaka to come in so I'm a little dicey on the food. He is ignoring the ramshorns and only eating bladder snails and bloodworms. I'm not to stocked on either.

BaitWorms- feed them.
Get past the stage of the bait tub they came in.

I think I may do a live bait worm tub with compost and banana peels etc.
Gut loaded worms (by me).
I have to figure out where to put them to keep ants away and all.


I will say for sure, a family member has been placing zucchini in with my giant rabbit snails and they have new shell material that looks very different than the past spirals of hard shell that has been built.

As for snails, we have plenty of giant Rabbit snails in the tanks.
I have not placed a rabbit in with the Dragon yet, but he does not even look at a ramshorn so far.
The Rabbit snails may be ready.

They are live bearer snails and pop out beautiful babies that will fill out well and be easy to see in the tanks.
Smaller other snails do make good light-weight cleaners for small leaves on live plants.

Lol he won’t be 1 inch for very long! From what I’ve read, they grow very fast at first!
