Puffer ID please

Post by faHAWKa »

Hey all, don't post much here but in the hobby many many years now and have kept 8 different types of puffer from Pea/Dwarf to a Narrow Lined saltwater puffer. Anyways, looking for a proper ID on this guy and some care tips or links? Seller calls it a Red tail Ocellated and before I buy, I wanna know for sure what I'm getting into. Thanx in advance!

Probably L. cutcutia, which can have red lined fins and an ocellus. If you can get any better side pics, feel free to post them.

In the first photo he’s got a male Lorteti look to his face and body shape, however yeah- little dude looks to be a cutcuia. A very lovely one at that, never seen such thick, dark red edging in the tail- usually it’s a thinner line of red! Plus the pattern on the forehead is a good tell! How big is this pretty puff?

He's about 2.5" right now. Have asked seller for more pics. As for care, is there much around for Cutcutia(that's what I was thinking so already looked around a bit). Haven't found much info on their care.

Thank You! Not much info to be found other than appearing to be quite aggressive. I'll see what I can get from the seller and hope to add this guy to my collection.
