Palembang - seriously tempted

Post by lilacamy931 »

Went to our epic LFS who had 5 Palembang puffs. First time ever seen them in the flesh and they were a healthy healthy size, one in particular loved.

Understand lurkers and had a congo in the past. Given their inactivity is 30-40 US gallons for water quality and fact they are chunky monkeys?

They had 5 in a small tank together and see posts with some success keeping together - has anyone managed this? If keeping 2-3 what size tank?

So tempted but bit intimidated to introduce a second largish tank.

I'd give them 20g ea, just so they can establish large enough territories.

@Pufferpunk - many thanks. I've seen a 100 litre cuboid tank that should be adequate for one with turning room?

I wish you could show us the differences if any in the 5 fish you had seen.

Anyhow, this one seems to be a great fish we snagged for $50.
Seen below with a 6 inch plastic container.

Oh he is absolutely lovely! Sadly there is only one there now. Believe the other four may have gone back to the source as quite a hard sell. I decided against it in the end as didn't want a pet rock ;)
