I had my first spawn very unexpected and I was not set up for this just yet lol

At least I know who the pair is so I’ll be focusing on them

Yes I’m excited 😊

It’s just going to be a real task.

Since it’s their first time I’m not even expecting to see a few survivors. I don’t think the male was doing his job asides from holding on lol

Very cool how many do you have in your tank? I want to add a second one in mine.

I would love to get a “home bred” schoutedeni, how absolutely incredible!!! Please let us know how it goes, and don’t be afraid to ask questions- rearing puffer fry can be harder then raising human kids (well, keeping them alive until they’re Juvis anyway 🤣)! Got any pics, who doesn’t love babies (even when they’re just eggs)!

You definitely could find good homes here for the fry if they survive!

I separated the male before I left
Will be done working the end of the week and I’ll be able to see them

Will get serious about the spawning soon

I have seen him spawn with two so far the same female twice already

Fantastic news, I hope he steps up to his puff husband duties of spawning properly for you ;)

Did you manage to sex yours before this behaviour with your 5? Or a case of the spawning has given them their genders?

My two little guys are growing well and settling well but curious if I will ever be able to tell what I have.

Hi are your guys getting on?

I was going to ask your group, did you get them all at the same time? My two are in a 55 gallon and wondering if could add to the mix or if that would be an exceedingly bad idea.

I did
But I added two more today and right away they were accepted by the original 5

They’re all doing great

That is great news :D It must be an exciting tank with a small colony of them now!

I'm having a think whether to introduce more to the 200 litre, my two seemed to have settled for now
