Avocado/Bronze Puffer (Auriglobus.modestus)
Picked up a juvenile (1") avocado/bronze puffer (Auriglobus.modestus) last Tuesday from my LFS.
Read up quite a bit on these guys a while back (because of how different they were compared to other puffer species), but I've never seen them available around these parts until now.
Still under quarantine and treating for any possible worms, the little puffer looks very healthy and eats like a pig.
Pictures to come shortly.

So cool, one of my favorites!
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Here's some pictures of my 1" avocado puffer (Auriglobus.modestus).
Had the little guy in a breeder box while I was making changes to to the scape (as small as he's is, he's quite the little nipper haha ).
Gave me a good opportunity to snap some close up shots.

Love him! I see his mouth is open in all the photos. Check his teeth--they are one of the species with overgrown tooth problems. Expect to do some trimming in the future. Be sure to feed LOTS of crunchy foods!library/hospital/dentistry/

Yeah, I purchased him knowing he had overgrowth (made it aware to the LFS, and asked for a discount). With avocado/bronze puffers I should be trimming every 4-6 months (atleast from what I've read/heard)Pufferpunk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2017 9:39 am Love him! I see his mouth is open in all the photos. Trying to get some MS-222 through the vet down my street.
Got this little guy a 10 gallon tank full of bladder snails, some baby ramshorn, and skuds to chew on.

Seems I can't get my hands on MS-222 or Finquel from a local veterinarian/animal hospital.
Really don't want to resort to clove oil, knowing how often I will have to use it.
Would anyone know where, I might still be able to order some MS-222 or Finquel?

I would try a zoo vet. They’re more experienced at dealing with exotics.

New findings are saying both are dangerous in different ways, so you can use either.

I'm researching different freshwater types. Still not sure what I want to do. For Pufferpunk - why is this one of your favorites?

I love oddball fish! This one looks unlike most puffers & is active.
