Young Fahaka Puffer hanging out around the surface... Help!
Young Fahaka Puffer hanging out around the surface... Help!
I've had a young Fahaka puffer (1.5 inch) for about a week and he recently began floating around the surface. Whenever he tries to sink his backend rolls over and he ends up doing a cartwheel. I placed him in a breeder box just so he wouldn't get sucked into the filter since he's having difficulties. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I've got 0 ammonia, 0 Nitrites, and 5-20 Nitrate. My nitrates were around 60-80 when he first started acting strange but I've been doing large water changes since then and managed to bring it down, I've been testing the water with the test kit (not garbage strips). Any insight would be appreciated!

Is he eating? Is it possible he swallowed air? Can you post a pic of him? Do you have a screen over the intake of your filter?
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Yeah he's eating which is why I find it so weird. He may have swallowed air but how would that get fixed?
