Pics of the new golden puffer

So, he hangs out in this corner pretty much all day. Hasn't eaten anything. Have him for 3 days now. Prior to buying him,he was eating he was eating carnivore sticks or something. Swims a bit. I turned on the powerhead to force him to move a bit.

I would put a TON more decor in there for him. He doesn't feel safe in there.

yeah....working on it. Gotta go to my lfs and get some. What do you recommend? What's natural for them?

Petsmart has some nice fake wood decor. I'd go with live plants, too.

Never been a fan of the fake decor. The piece i have is temp till i get some low light plants. Gonna go with annubias and some vals. Will this guy eat thr frozen mussels they sell at pet stores?

Agreed, I hate fake decor. I would add a LOT of annubias, it's a great lowlight plant. Also, if you can afford it Id put a small mangrove stump inside, they're usually around $200 but look so cool, I have one in two of my tanks. If you want larger plants and stuff they can hide in, I'd recommend some Amazon swords and spiderwood.

Hard to say, but more likely than not he should. Like most puffers, especially goldens and amazons, their diets should consist mostly of snails.

Keep a close eye on it's teeth. They are 2nd to Amazons in needing dentistry work.

i've only seen it like the way you see in the pics i posted. So far he eat snails and large hikari cichlid gold pellets.

Added some plants and gonna be adding more as i go. So far his tank mates are untouched. Hopefully it lasts.
