Rare Lurking Puffer
Recently, my two Amazon puffers started nipping at my opal spot pleco and my friend wanted them, so I gave them to him. It's nice because I can still see them and not have to worry about maintenance. Anyways, I decided that I want another puffer, and I have an empty 25 gallon tank. I'm interested in a rare puffer, no matter the price. I have my LFS and two websites ready to notify me if any dubois' or hairy puffers become available. Are there any other rare puffers that I should look at that could live in a 25 gallon? Is there another place selling any of these puffers?

Re: Rare Lurking Puffer
I don't know much about freshwater puffers that aren't DPs but, this guy occasionally gets other kinds in stock.

Maybe call or email them? they could get some in I'm sure. Possibly do the same at LFS within an hour or so's drive?

Re: Rare Lurking Puffer
My LFS actually has four congos in stock right now, three are orange one is red. I'm trying to find a slightly rarer puffer, but if I can't in a couple weeks or so I'll probably get a congo.

Red Congo is VERY rare & generally quite expensive. You can't touch one around here for <$200.

Re: Rare Lurking Puffer
Really? My LFS was selling it for $160 but I didn't think it was anything special. I actually called them last night, though, and they said that someone just bought it. However, all of the puffers that I've ever bought from my LFS died within a year or less, so I probably wouldn't have gotten it from them anyways. But, if I find one being offered by someone else, I'll make sure to buy it.
