She also tried to go for a shrimp but it got away.

That's encouraging news, how full did her stomach get? Haha she'll get it right eventually, she's still a baby so she'll probably take a lot of practice swipes at them.

I'm not sure really, I saw her eat a few but went downstairs and came back up (Her belly definitely looked more plump) I just really want her to be healthy, she's not had a good life so far.. :L

One more question, one of her eyes looks similar to these two:

What is it? I've seen it in a lot of puffers.

If you like the idea of driftwood but cannot deal with the tanins why don't you just shellac it? I don't know the specifics but i have heard of people doing this in fw/bw tanks with no issues. just some food for thought.

After soaking her blood worm in garlic again today she's eaten again, she's looking nice and tubby now lol. Really glad that she's finally settling in.

I also done a 30% WC and cleaned the filter in the tank water before I discarded it.

Love it, keep up the garlic soaking, add a good quality vitamin supplement to the mix aswell
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Here's a few pictures I took today, she's now eating every time I offer it to her, she even came up to the top today and was practically eating out of my hand lol:

Big thanks to all the guys and girls on here for helping me to get her health back to 100%, especially puffykid and bertie 83, appreciate it.

Checking out her plant (She usually sleeps in there):

Her tank:

My friends getting me £50's worth of plants and rocks for free as she works at a LFS, which will help a lot (I obviously won't use them all) but it does look a little plain in there atm.

Would I be able to keep a Corydora in there with her?

I wouldn't do it, 15 gallons is minimum for a full grown red eye and due to their aggression are considered species only puffers. Cories should be kept in groups of 4-5 anyways or they can get skittish which would give you a huge bioload. If you want some more stuff in there besides the plants you are putting in, you can add some cherry shrimp, for added interest and a food supply if you gut load and raise them in separate tank.

Ah ok, that's fine.

Haha, she isn't very aggressive yet, there's around 7 or 8 ghost shrimp in there (been in there for 2 or 3 days now, and she hasn't touched one. (But I'm guessing her aggression will increase as she ages?)

Yea I agree it will likely end in tears. Stick with what you got fella. Use ghost shrimp to bottom feed as they are dirt cheap.

Ya when she gets bigger she'll probably start hunting them. Till then like Bertie said they can be your clean up crew, it's also really entertaining to watch them hunt so hopefully you will be able to catch her in action.

As I said in my previous post, my friend who works at the LFS is getting me tons of plants and rocks, they'll be going in there soon.

Use as much of the free stuff as possible, make it visually complex with open swimming space along the front, use more plants than rock though because of displacement

Will do, I'll probably put most of the plants around the back and sides, she loves sleeping/hiding in the plant that she has, so I'll probably never see her lol.
